Vera Kevic is co-owner of Doulas on Bikes, a business she runs with her sister Mira in Toronto, Canada. She is a Certified Labour Doula (CAPPA), Postpartum Doula, Lactation Educator, Placenta Encapsulator and Hypno-Birthing Professional. She is committed to fostering confidence in women and pregnant people to have beautiful birth experiences that leave them empowered and ready to be the kind of parent they want to be for their children. She regularly hosts free and low-cost workshops to new parents with a focus on enviro-parenting and eco-friendly ideas for childrearing (such as minimalist living, cloth diapering, reducing waste, DIY and baby wearing).
Vera previously held the position of Public Relations and Communications Officer at Access Alliance Multicultural Health and Community Services, a multi-sited non-profit organisation in Toronto. In her 14 years at this organisation, she gained experience in how an industry acquires accreditation (this was for community interpretation); how to disseminate research projects (including event planning and media relations); and how to effectively advocate for systemic change (through government relations, community building and collective actions). These are skills she brings to the AOD and to the birthing community in Ontario.
She earned an Hons.,B.A. from the University of Toronto, a Certificate in Teaching Adults from George Brown College and she studied Public Relations at Ryerson University. Vera has remained dedicated to personal and professional self development through lifelong transformational learning.
