I strive to be a Calming Influence for the new baby & their parent(s) (whether biological, adoptive, or surrogate). I am a certified Post-Partum Doula through Doula Training Canada (https://doulatraining.ca/).

I love helping out a new parent(s) with their baby during their first year of life. I have been trained to help out in so many ways and every parent is different in terms of their needs. I know how overwhelming it can feel as you take your newborn home for the first time; feeling such responsibility for this new life and wondering if you have what it takes.

What can I do for you as your Postpartum Doula?

I can…

☐ Assist you with newborn care such as diapering, bathing, feeding and comforting and maybe hold the baby so you can take a quick nap or a shower.

☐ Provide breastfeeding support and knowledge
☐ Provide nourishment for you by heating up a bowl of soup, preparing a beverage or a nutritional snack.
☐ Listen to your concerns, worries and stories and reassure you and/or suggest resource(s) you can access to get you a different kind of professional help.
☐ Do some light housekeeping: clean the bath tub, do a quick vacuum, throw in a load of laundry, or fold one and put it away.
☐ Focus on sleeping issues: discuss a variety of ways to help sooth your baby to sleep and discuss changing sleeping needs as babies grow and develop.
☐ Set up your space so you feel organized, efficient and on top of things.
☐ Spend time with your other young children and/or hold the other baby if you’ve had twins or other multiples.
☐ Attend a doctor’s, or other health provider’s, visit with you.
☐ Help your life partner with their questions and concerns.
☐ Stay overnight to help look after the baby over a longer period so you can get the extended rest you need to function at your best.
It’s up to you…I will make suggestions but you know what is most important to you.
