Services Offered: Birth Doula, Postpartum Doula
Amy is a birth and postpartum doula who has been supporting families in the National Capital region since 2009. She has extensive experience in supporting clients throughout their pregnancies, births and life at home with a new baby. Amy is certified as a birth doula through DONA and has additional training as a postpartum doula through both DONA and ProDoula. She holds a BA in English/Psychology. She continues to further her education by attending workshops and training. Amy is an active member of her local doula community, advocating for both doulas and the families we support.
She has experience in supporting clients choosing vaginal births (both with or without medication), cesareans, VBACs, CBACS, births using Hypnobabies, Mindfulness or Yoga for Birth, adoption, a wide variety of parenting styles, chestfeeding, bottle feeding, pumping, and many other approaches to birth and parenting. She is respectful of her clients’ choices and is honored to be with them through some of the most important experiences of their lives.
Amy began working as a doula after the births of her two children. When she is not working, Amy can be found spending time with her partner and two children, watching them play hockey, digging in her vegetable garden, chasing after her dog, and volunteering as a board member of Ottawa Valley Doulas Association.
She is passionate about people having a positive experience, no matter how they choose to birth or parent.
