Services Offered: Postpartum Doula
Are you a new parent? Feeling exhausted or overwhelmed? Need a few hours of rest? Wishing you had an extra pair of experienced hands to help?
My name is Lyz and I am a proud Momma of two wonderful girls. When our first was born 10yrs ago, I refused help as I wanted to do it all on my own. Little did I know that I would suffer from Post-Partum depression, serious sleep deprivation (shift working hubby), be drowning in a sea of itty-bitty laundry and forgetting to feed myself. In a very short amount of time I realized that I needed help from our families. The only problem was that our closest family was 2hrs away and working full time. We eventually figured it out (if there is such a thing!) and even convinced each other to have a second child
A little bit about myself ~
I am an Educational Assistant and have worked in the school board since 2009 on and off between having our children. After our second was born I opted to stay home and opened my own home daycare which I ran for 2years. I have worked with children my whole life and find it extremely rewarding.
I was inspired to become a postpartum doula after supporting a few friends and family members during their postpartum journey. I have seen and heard of too many of us parents doing this thing called life and Motherhood solo. When I was younger, I often heard my mother and her friends talking about how it truly takes a village to raise children.
I want to be a part of your village. I want to help you with the daily aspects of care for your newborn. You might need help with laundry, breast feeding support, bottle feeding, meals, tidying around the house so you can have that extra time to bond with your little one. Maybe you have multiples and just need a second pair of hands. Whatever it is that you need, I would love to help.
Feel free to contact me with any questions you may have regarding my services. I look forward to helping you create your village!
